Dunbar Primary School
Client: East Lothian Council
The conservation work of John Muir was the starting point for this commission which involved quotations from his writings and natural history carvings. John Muir grew up in Dunbar and in the artwork parallels are drawn between species he would have seen during his Scottish boyhood and the species of the high Sierra in California which he did so much to conserve.
Panels showing these species are built into the school walls, serving as a permanent educational resource.
